Registering

In order to publish to the Virtual Observatory you need to Register your new service with a VO-compliant Registry. This involves three steps:

  • 'describe' your data in an XML 'metadoc'
  • Configure your webapp to fit with the VO
  • Configure your webapp to generate the right VO documents and access the VO Registries
  • Copy these VO documents to a VO Registry

Once all of the properties have been configured, we can register the DSA service with a VO registry.

You can do this via a 'pull', by logging on to the VO registry and following its instructions to load the registry entries from a url, which will be: ${datacenter.url}/GetMetadata

Alternatively you can add a property org.astrogrid.registry.admin.endpoint with the url to the registry endpoint, and then use the 'Register' button on the register page of the webapp.
