AstroGrid Science Calls

We encourage the community to get involved in development of AstroGrid in two ways.

The first is by responding to competitive calls for new work in collaboration with AstroGrid. This could include developing new software tools, or preparing data sets for publication in the VO, or setting up collaborative structures for specific pieces of science. For these formal calls, we set aside some AstroGrid staff time to work together with scientists in the community.

The second way is by informal approaches to discuss similar issues. We welcome any approach, but of course cannot guarantee how much staff effort can be provided for assistance.

  • There will be no further AstroGrid Science Calls.
  • Potential UK VO science users are encouraged to submit proposals to the Euro-VO Science Call programme - see http://www.euro-vo.org

Acknowledging AstroGrid. If you make use of the AstroGrid system or tools, we would be grateful if you could acknowledge this use in any resulting publications. You could use these words: 'This research has made use of data obtained using, or software provided by, the UK's AstroGrid Virtual Observatory Project, which is funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council and through the EU's Framework 6 programme.' Use of any data discovered or accessed through AstroGrid should of course be mentioned as noted by the data providers.
