Virtual Observatory Science Calls

AstroGrid is part of the Euro-VO partnership. The Euro-VO Facility Centre, led by ESO and ESA, organises competitions for proposals for small projects to be run using VO tools, supported by Euro-VO astronomers. This can include science projects using the tools, or development of a new tool to help new science getting done.

Historically AstroGrid ran its own UK-based science calls. We now encourage all users to participate in the Europe-wide initiatives. However we would welcome informal contact from users with suggestions for new AstroGrid tools, or improvements to existing tools.

Euro-VO Science Calls

Previous AstroGrid science calls

Historically, AstroGrid encouraged the community to get involved in development of AstroGrid by responding to competitive calls for new work in collaboration with AstroGrid. This could include developing new software tools, or preparing data sets for publication in the VO, or setting up collaborative structures for specific pieces of science. For these formal calls, we set aside some AstroGrid staff time to work together with scientists in the community.
